The grade 5 homeroom teachers role is to support their own exhibition groups throughout the inquiry. Note the children in these groups come from all classes in Grade 5 not only their own class. The teachers aim to make the students as independent as possible promoting them to solve problems, plan, research, resolve any group conflicts and so on.
The homeroom teachers help students as necessary; just enough support and guidance to make the exhibition a great success for every student. Some students and groups will require more teacher intervention than others. The other main role of the homeroom teacher is to assess the students and to provide them with timely, goal referenced, achievable, tangible, feedback which promotes thinking.
