The PE team are undertaking their Adventure Challenge unit of inquiry during the time of the Exhibition. Students will be exploring team building, problem solving & group dynamics. Where possible they will be working with members of their Exhibition group. They will be reflecting on the need for such skills during the Exhibition and applying such skills during their time in the homeroom.

The PE department will be focusing on how being self-aware can not only help improve our own skills, but help our team succeed. The groups will be given problems that they will only be able to solve if they work together as a team. They will also learn what it means to trust and empathize with members of their team, how to make decisions effectively and how to resolve conflict, should it arise.

The last challenge will be a low-level ropes course that will test each individual’s attitude and self-awareness, as they will need to find that balance between being courageous and making wise decisions. Throughout the unit the students will be completing a learning journal in which they will be recording their reflections.

They will be thinking how they can transfer what they have discovered about themselves, their teams or the skills they have learned to help them in their final exhibition project and the journey towards that goal.
