Finding Out and Mentors
Finding Out
After you complete your driving questions, central idea and lines of inquiry, your focus will be Finding Out information. You will also be looking at the different perspectives based on the information you find.
This week, your teachers and mentors will help you find five good resources; you'll find these in the Finding Out section of this website. You will have to look at these resources and also find other resources of your own.
You need to spend this week finding information and learning about your issue. Remember, in five weeks time you will need to be ready to explain different perspectives, have a conversation with your audience, imagine different points of view and emotions and be prepared to answer questions. Your presentation must focus on the most important details. Revisit the How we will be Assessed to review what will be expected.
By the end of this week you should also have brainstormed some ideas for field trips and interviews.
Mentors
Here are two success criteria checklists of things to do during your first two mentor meetings. Do not worry if you don't complete all of these things. Your job during the meeting is to think, discuss ideas and make some agreements. Your mentor will take notes in your shared google doc. He or she will also find this check-list on your google doc to tick off what you have done.
